Proses Pemasangan Crown Gigi
Pemasangan crown gigi biasanya membutuhkan waktu beberapa kali kunjungan ke dokter gigi. Jumlah kunjungan yang diperlukan akan tergantung pada kondisi gigi Sahabat Sehat. Berikut ini prosedur pemasangan crown gigi yang perlu diketahui:
1. Menentukan bahan pembentuk crown gigi
Crown gigi memiliki bahan yang bermacam-macam dengan kelebihan dan kekurangannya masing-masing. Bahan crown gigi yang akan dipakai ditentukan oleh dokter gigi. Beberapa jenis material untuk crown gigi meliputi logam, porselen atau keramik, rasin, campurun porselen dan logam, stainless steel.
2. Pemeriksaan mulut
Dokter gigi umumnya akan melakukan beberapa pemeriksaan terlebih dahulu, seperti foto rontgen, untuk mengetahui kondisi akar gigi dan dan tulang di sekitar gigi. Jika ditemukan kerusakan gigi yang parah atau risiko infeksi pada akar gigi, dokter akan melakukan perawatan saluran akar terlebih dulu.
3. Mencetak crown gigi
Crown gigi dicetak dengan kondisi gigi yang akan ditutupi. Dari cetakan yang telah dibuat, umumnya crown gigi akan selesai sekitar 2–3 minggu kemudian.
Dokter akan menggunakan anestesi atau pembiusan di jaringan gusi sekitar gigi saat memberikan crown gigi sementara untuk melindungi gigi sampai crown gigi permanen selesai dibuat.
4. Pemasangan crown gigi permanen
Setelah crown gigi selesai dibuat, dokter akan melepas crown gigi sementara dan membersihkan sisa-sisanya agar crown permanen bisa menempel dengan baik. Sesudah proses pasang crown gigi permanen selesai dan gigi sudah terasa nyaman, Sahabat Sehat diperbolehkan untuk pulang.
