Deteksi Dini Kelainan Retina Pada Bayi dengan Retcam
Retina adalah organ yang sangat vital dari seluruh jaringan di dalam rongga mata, yang berfungsi untuk menangkap rangsangan cahaya dan mengirimkan rangsangan tersebut ke otak, sehingga kita dapat melihat suatu objek. Retina memerlukan suplai darah, normalnya suplai darah retina dimulai pada usia 16 minggu kehamilan dan terbentuk secara sempurna pada umur kehamilan 41-42 minggu.
Gangguan pembentukan pembuluh darah retina atau retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) yang bisa terjadi pada bayi premature sejatinya bisa di skrining. Untuk mendapatkan gambaran maupun rekaman kondisi retina dan mata bagian depan, termasuk kondisi sudut bilik mata depan secara real adalah menggunakan Retcam atau Retina Camera. Kelainan retina yang dapat dideteksi dengan Retcam ;
- Retinopathy Of Prematurity ( kelainan pertumbuhan pembuluh darah retina pada bayi premature),
- Retinoblastoma (tumor retina),
- Penyakit infeksi yang dapat mengenai retina seperti : Toxoplasma, Cyto Megalo Virus (CMV), dll
Keunggulan penggunaan Retcam dalam deteksi dini ROP adalah didapatkannya gambaran Retina secara keseluruhan sehingga dapat digunakan dalam evaluasi progresivitas ROP dan hasil terapi yang telah diberikan.
